Daylight Saving Ends Early Sunday
We 'fall back' this weekend. What will you do with your extra hour?
Daylight saving time will end at 2 a.m. Sunday. This means you will "fall back" and set your clocks back one hour. Daylight saving begins again on March 10, 2013. That extra hour gives you a chance to get out in the Washington area and have some fun or get some extra sleep. Metro announced Friday it will close 3 a.m. Sunday. Metro explained in a tweet, "Sunday morning at 2:00 a.m. it becomes 1:00 a.m. The Metrorail system will close two hours later at 3:00 a.m." When you change your clocks in the fall and spring, it's also a good time to change smoke detector batteries and check to make sure they are in working order, local fire officials say.
