WEEK IN REVIEW: Deal to Sell Falls Church Water Reached

Holiday season in full swing n Falls Church.

Thanksgiving is behind us but the holiday season is rolling on. For Fairfax Water, the holidays have started off well since they have a deal in place to acquire Falls Church Water. The deal is dependent on a referendum vote in November 2013 by residents of the City of Falls Church. Some people have already spoke out in favor of the deal. You can still voice your opinion on the issue. I’ve always heard people say it’s better to give than receive and the Falls Church Volunteer Fire Department put those words into action. Last week, they donated an ambulance to the Island Park Volunteer Fire Department (New York) who lost just about everything in Super Storm Sandy. JEB Stuart Baseball Player Signs With VMI

Jack Gomersall first of coach Randy Lightle’s baseball players to sign a scholarship offer to play at a Division I college.

After a dinner meeting with the baseball staff from the Virginia Military Institute in July, it didn’t take Jack Gomersall long to figure out that’s where he wanted to play his college ball. It also didn’t take him long to start looking up VMI hats online. Tuesday, the 17-year-old pitcher from JEB Stuart High signed a scholarship offer with VMI. “I am very excited to play at VMI,” said Gomersall who maintains a 3.0 GPA. “I had gone to dinner with them and they offered the scholarship.” Stuart baseball’s reigning Most Valuable Player earned All-Northern Virginia National District honors for the Raiders.
