Falls Church Voters Excited Over Obama, Kaine Wins

Voter turnout in the City of Falls Church eclipsed the 2008 numbers bringing out 87 percent of the registered voters.

For months John Lawrence has canvassed Northern Virginia for President Barack Obama’s grassroots campaign knocking on doors and making phone calls. Tuesday night, Lawrence, a Falls Church City Public Schools board member, celebrated Obama’s re-election with other area Democrats at a watch party at Mad Fox Brewing Company. “This means we can keep on the upward path President Obama has us on,” Lawrence said. “I think what he is going to do is focus on foreign policy in this term.” Local Democrats were excited to hear that City of Falls Church voters turned out to the polls in record breaking numbers. In 2008, 82.8 percent of the city’s registered voters went to the polls. This year, a little more than 87 percent of the city’s registered …

Falls Church GOP Chair Says Mitt Romney Should Win Virginia

Ken Feltman said Gov. Romney has to avoid clumsy comments to win final debate.

With the last of the three debates between President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney scheduled for Monday night, the chair of the Falls Church City Republican Committee said the GOP candidate has to look presidential. Ken Feltman said in order for Romney to win over some of the undecided voters, he has to avoid clumsy comments — especially about women. He…

This is near certain death for an incumbent as late-breaking voters tilt heavily in favor of the challenger, especially one as clearly qualified for the job as Romney (even if you disagree with his policies, you can't …   more ›

Falls Church GOP Chair Likes Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney's VP Pick

Ken Feltman said Mitt Romney’s pick of Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan should shore up the Republican base this year.

Ken Feltman wasn’t surprised Saturday morning about Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s selection of Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate. Feltman, chair of the Falls Church City Republican Committee, said he found a website that lets you track the private planes belonging to candidates and saw Romney’s plane land in Wisconsin Friday night. Paul is engaging and people gravitate to him, Feltman said. “I said to my wife, ‘Maybe Romney is looking at the polls and he thought this would shore up the Republican base’,” Feltman said. “Paul meets people very well. People like him when they meet him and older people think he’s a nice young man.” Romney announced the Wisconsin congressman as his running mate Saturday at a rally …

“Paul meets people very well. People like him when they meet him and older people think he’s a nice young man.” Hopefully people will discover about the what Mr. Ryan wants and doesn't want. About the philosophical beliefs he holds, originally broadcast by Ayn Rand. She is required reading for Ryan's staff. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayn_Rand   more ›
