Two New Inductees for Mason Athletic Hall of Fame

Three-sport star Travis Greene and 1962 baseball team two latest inductees.

The George Mason High Athletic Hall of Fame has opened their doors to two new inductees for their Class of 2012. On Tuesday, the committee announced that 2006 graduate Travis Greene and the 1962 baseball team will join dozens of others in the HOF for their athletic contributions. Greene, now an assistant football coach at Morrisville State College in New York, was a three-sport athlete at Mason, lettering in football, basketball and track and field. In his Mustang career, he rushed for more than 3,000 yards and 38 touchdowns before heading to Elon University, where he earned four letters as a defensive back, linebacker and member of special teams. “I was very thankful,” Greene said during a telephone interview Tuesday. “I was elated.
