Work crews still repairing leak at the school.
Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School will be closed again Thursday, the second day it has had to shut down because of a sewage leak at the school. Work crews will work through Wednesday night to repair the leak and a cut power line in a sinkhole on the side of the school. Officials detected the sinkhole and outside sewage leak around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The school suffered a similar sewage leak in October, which also closed school for one day. Falls Church City Public Schools is offering free day care to families experiencing childcare hardships as a result of the unexpected closure.
