Driver Leads Falls Church Police on Chase on N. Virginia Avenue
Also: A man steals five bottles of spirits from Giant. Information provided by the City of Falls Church.
Falls Church Police were led on a chase last Monday near the 100 block of N. Virginia Ave. when a driver refused to pull over. The driver, a 36-year-old man from Falls Church, was arrested for driving under the influence and eluding police, according to a news release.
In other crime news, police reported this week that a man stole five bottles of wine or beer on Thursday, Oct. 17, from the Giant store at 1230 W. Broad St. The man is described as 20 to 25 years old, wearing a multi-colored short-sleeve shirt, brown pants, beige shoes and a black knit cap.
Police also reported that a car parked at 6623 Wilson Blvd., Monday, Oct. 21, over the weekend was found with a window smashed and equipment stolen from inside.
Other crime highlights in Falls Church last week include:
- Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to Blood or Breath Test, 1100 block W. Broad St. On Wednesday, Oct. 23, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The male driver, 24, of Falls Church, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to Blood or Breath Test.
- Driving Under the Influence, 100 block Great Falls St. On Thursday, Oct. a 36-year-old male driver from Falls Church was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.
- Vandalism to Vehicle, 100 block N. Washington St. On Friday, Oct. 25, an unknown suspect smashed a vehicle window. No items were taken.
- Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to Blood or Breath Test, 200 block Little Falls St. On Sunday, Oct. 27, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation. The male driver, 38, of The City of Falls Church, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to Blood or Breath Test.
- Failure to Appear, On Friday, Oct. 25, a 31-year-old man from Pikeville, N.C., was found and arrested in the City of Hopewell, Va. for Failure to Appear in Falls Church General District Court to answer to a July 2010 charge of Driving with a Suspended License.
