New Details Revealed in Vanessa Pham Murder Investigation

The trial of Julio Blanco-Garcia, accused of killing Falls Church teenager Vanessa Pham in 2010, begins in just weeks, and with it comes the release of new evidence. Pham lived on James Lee Street in Falls Church and was a student at Savannah College of Art and Design at the time.

NBC Washington obtained autopsy results and a DNA forensic analysis report which reveals that the teen was stabbed 12 times in the neck, chest, and leg.

The television station also reported authorities analyzed Blanco-Garcia’s computer and found searches for “Vanessa” and “Vanessa Pham.” There were also visits to the Facebook pages of America’s Most Wanted and the Fairfax County Police Department.

Blanco-Garcia, 27, was arrested in December 2012 at the construction site in Vienna where he worked. He is described by police as a Guatemalan national living on the 6100 block of Willston Drive in Falls Church.

Pham was a Madison High School student, and a resident of Falls Church who had just finished her freshman year at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She was last seen at the Fairfax Plaza Shopping Center, where she visited a store and left the area in her car, according to Fairfax County police.

Authorities found her dead 30 minutes later after receiving a report of a crash near Arlington Boulevard and Williams Drive. The injuries she had were not consistent with those that one would have in a car crash, according to police. 

The reports obtained by NBC did not indicate how Pham and Blanco-Garcia came into contact. 

Pham is buried at a cemetery in Falls Church.
