What's Open, What's Closed for Monday, Dec. 9

Falls Church City Public Schools are closed for students and staff; Fairfax County public schools are also closed.

UPDATE Monday 1:40 p.m.:

Monday night's City Council Reception and Meeting will take place as scheduled. The 6 p.m. reception at the Community Center will honor the outgoing members and welcome the new members.

The 7:30 p.m. regular meeting will include the swearing in of the new members, who will officially take office Jan. 6. (The Mayor and Vice Mayor will be elected at the January 6 meeting.)

Falls Church City Public Schools
are closed Monday due to the icy roads from the winter storm.

The schools are closed for students and staff. Day Care is also closed.

Schools are also closed for all Fairfax County public schools.

The City of Falls Church government will be open on time Monday, including the Community Center, Recreation and Parks activities, and the Mary Riley Styles Public Library.

If you're a City Employee, you may take Unscheduled Leave, but you should contact your supervisor.

Other closings:

Arlington County Government Offices, and Arlington County Courts will open on time Monday. Employees may take unscheduled leave or telecommute, with approval of their supervisors.

Fairfax County government offices will be open Monday, Dec. 9, however employees have been granted unscheduled leave. Emergency service personnel should report as scheduled.

Fairfax County Circuit Court, District Court and Juvenile Relations are all closed Monday, Dec. 9. 

Fairfax County Park Authority events and classes area canceled, but the facilities will remain open.

Fairfax County Connector operations are operating as normal.

District of Columbia Government will operate on a two-hour delay. 

Federal agencies will operate on a two-hour delay with the option of unscheduled leave and telework.
