Construction Underway For New Home Of Easter Seals CDC

Construction work is underway on an interior and exterior renovation to the future home of the Easter Seals Child Development Center.

The center will be located at 300 Hunton Ave. near Larry Graves Park. In May, the Falls Church Board of Zoning Appeals approved a parking variance for the project because of available public parking near the site, including at the park.

A work permit to add a second floor inside an existing building and to perform the renovations was issued in June.

The center is being forced to move from its N. Cherry Street location because the building, owned by the city, will be used by Falls Church City Public Schools.

The Child Development Center of Northern Virginia, an Easter Seals organization, provides educational and therapeutic services to children from six weeks to five years old who have been diagnosed with disabling conditions or developmental delays, or who are at risk for those delays.
