Owe the Library? Pay Off Your Fine with a Food Donation This Week

Wipe out your library fines at the Mary Riley Styles Public Library with a food donation, through Sunday.

Racked up fines at the library? You can wipe them out and help a good cause by donating food, through Sunday.

Here's how it works: The Mary Riley Styles Public Library in Falls Church is accepting food donations through Sunday. For any one food donation you make, it will wipe out the fine for any single overdue item.

A single grocery item can be a can of fruit, soup, cake mix, etc.). It will cover the fine for a book, DVD, audio book or music CD.

What a food donation cannot cover: The loss of any item checked out from the library. For safety reasons, the library cannot accept glass jars, opened or bulging cans, items past their expiration date, or sample or trial-sized items.

The donations will go to local community organizations working with the City of Falls Church Housing and Human Services Division, to provide aid to families in the area.

Call the library's Circulation Desk at 703-248-5031 for more information.
